Sooner Spotlight #55: Kenneth Mann

With 55 days until Sooner Football, the spotlight today will be fixed upon defensive end who wears #55, Kenneth Mann. Mann, now a RS sophomore, was a consensus three-star recruit out of high school with some eye opening numbers. In his senior year, he recorded 79 tackles, 14.5 sacks, and 27 tackles for loss. He chose the Sooners over OSU and KSU.

Kenneth Mann is a sleeper for me this year and Sooner fans should definitely get to know his name. Last year he played mostly on special teams but I would look for him to be more of a rotational guy on defense this year. He is 6’3, 277, so he’s able to play a strong-side defensive end and move like a linebacker. I really like his quickness off the edge and I think Sooner fans will as well.

When watching the Spring Game, I was super impressed with Mann. He gets a nice jump off the line every time and made a really nice play to sack Chris Robison in the 2nd quarter. As a good special team member and a quick edge rusher, he really reminds me of Ronnell Lewis. He has all the tools to have a special career at OU.
